Puppeteer who began his career in the early 1970s as the characters Cookie Monster, Bert, and Grover with the New York based Children’s Television Workshop TV series “Sesame Street” In 1976, he and Jim Henson created “The Muppet Show” television series in which Oz was puppeteer for characters Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Sam the Eagle and Swedish Chef In 1977, George Lucas signs Oz to provide the voice over for character Yoda in the Star Wars movie series Oz has also appeared in a few movies as himself without a puppet character and has established himself as a respected Director TV serials and movies: “Sesame Street” “The Muppet Show” “Fraggle Rock” First cinematic movie: “The Muppet Movie” 1979
