Father was an Officer in the Army and stationed at Fort Sheridan at the time of his son’s birth   Family settles permanently at Duarte, California and Sam begins writing skits and short plays for the Magic Theatre Company in San Fransisco where he performs as actor   Moves to New York to write and perform in major Broadway plays    Pulitzer Prize as Playwright for “Buried Child” 1979    Academy Award nomination Best Actor “The Right Stuff” 1983    First cinematic movie: “Bronco Bullfrog” 1970
